Wow with all this rain and heat there has been an increase in mosquitos and dengue fever. Before doing the summer workshops for the kids we had to get the house fumigated! Well wasn’t easy but we found a local fumigator to do the job!!! Yahoo now we can feel a tad freer with those pesky mosquitos.
Topic for workshops is on emotional health, facilitated by Carmita and youth volunteers and the kids can also use the garden area that is now sunshade protected thanks to the Pickleball donation received in the winter.
The kitchen area has been finished with 2 sinks that the kids can use readily and easily!! Yahoo thanks to your donations!!!
The junior volunteers with Carmita had sessions understanding emotions like sadness and happiness drew paintings of their feelings of sadness and lightness. Then took their work home to show and talk with their families about their road of love and starry nights.
One side point is that the workshops began at 9:30 and if the kids were not on time they missed out. Early learning opportunities!! And because it is so hot we got another floor fan for the kids thanks to you!!
