Not a favourite topic or well discussed event or planned event but it can happen. You must have your paperwork in order for you and survivors to have a seamless event.
A will from any other country is not valid in Mexico. A Last Will and Testament needs to be in place for your survivors.
Living Will
A Living Will was passed into law in the Yucatan in 2008. If you are of legal age you can have a LIving Will prepared by a lawyer and stamped and signed by a Notary.
You will need your marriage certificate translated.
If you own property (real estate) through a fideicomiso, the transfer of this property to your designated beneficiary is already taken care of in that document but check.
Apostille refers to the legalization of a document for international use under terms of the 1961 Hague Convention.
Cremation requires the approval of a family member or a document which clearly indicates that it is your wish to be cremated.
If all is in order you do not have to notify the police.
